About Me

Hi there, My name is Nicci and I would like to welcome you to my setting - Little Ducklings Childcare. I am 30 years old and live with my partner Stuart, our beautiful daughter Olivia, and our friendly house rabbit Jack in our family home in the town of Boston, Lincolnshire.

Childminding is more than just a job for me. I thoroughly enjoy to see children grow and develop as they learn new things, and I feel extremely privileged to be able to play a part in helping them to learn and develop. I am passionate about providing every child in my care with the opportunity to not only reach their full potential, but also to experience a warm and loving, home from home environment, where they can feel safe and comfortable, whilst learning as they play.

I made the decision to become a childminder whilst I was on maternity leave with Olivia. I found it completely amazing to watch this tiny person developing and learning new things daily, I felt a great sense of pride and achievement every day, and from then on I knew that this was where I was meant to be, and that I wanted to play a part in helping other children to learn and develop, whilst taking care of them in a safe and warm environment, whilst their parents were at work.

I like to work closely in partnership with parents, who will be able to share with me their knowledge about their child. This knowledge will enable me to provide suitable activities for each child, based around their interests, likes, and stages of development.

I will provide you with an ‘All About Me’ booklet which I would like you to complete for me before I begin looking after your child. It will provide me with vital information about your child so that I can make them feel as comfortable as possible whilst they are in my setting.

About The Setting

My family and I live in a lovely 2 bed semi-detached house on Horncastle Road in Boston.

We have a safe, enclosed garden and a lovely open plan ground floor which gives the children with plenty of space to play in.

The children will have use of the following rooms:

  • Living room / Dining room – This is a large area which was two rooms that have now been opened up into one. This will be the main play/activity area. Children will be able to use the TV during quiet time, if they are not sleeping, and will be able to read books on the rug or sofa. Arts and Crafts will take place on the tables in the dining area.

  • Kitchen – Children will only be in the kitchen when washing their hands or helping to prepare food as part of an activity. They will not be allowed into the kitchen without me.

  • Garden – The children will have lots of time to play outside in the garden. We will have lots of outdoor games and toys, sand and water play and will be growing our own vegetables.

  • Bedroom – There is a bedroom available for any children that will require it during the day. There is a travel cot for the younger children and readybeds for the older children who require sleep.
